Privacy policy.

Owais Naseem (“I”, “me”) runs owaisnaseem.com (the “Website”), the portfolio for my website development and performance marketing services, based in Karachi, Pakistan. This policy explains what personal information I collect when you visit the Website or contact me, and how I use, share and protect it.

Information I collect

• Contact form: your name, email address, the service you need and your project message.
• Messages: anything you send me by email or through LinkedIn.
• Usage information: through Google Analytics, your device and browser type, approximate location (country and city), the pages you view, how you reached the Website and how long you stay. This stops if you turn analytics off.
• Technical information: when you send the contact form, my server keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for up to a day to stop spam. My hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.

How I use it

• To reply to your inquiry and prepare a proposal.
• To deliver projects and manage our working relationship.
• To understand how visitors use the Website so I can improve it.
• To protect the Website and contact form from spam and misuse.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Cookies and analytics

I use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to measure how the Website is used. It runs when you visit and sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID. You can turn it off at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer. After that, Google Analytics is no longer loaded on your device and its cookies are removed. If you turn analytics off, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. After you send the contact form, your first name is kept in your browser’s session storage so the confirmation page can greet you. Neither of these is sent to me.

Services that receive data

• Hostinger hosts the Website and my email.
• Google provides Google Analytics and Google Fonts, which loads the Website’s typefaces. Google receives your IP address when your browser loads these.
• jsDelivr delivers the 3D graphics library used on the homepage and receives your IP address when your browser loads it.
• LinkedIn, if you follow the link to my profile.

I do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Apart from the services above, I share it only when the law requires it, or with people who help me deliver your project when you agree to it.

How long I keep it

I keep inquiries and project emails for as long as I need them to answer you, deliver your project and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in my Analytics account, which is no longer than 14 months.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal information I hold about you;
• correct information that is inaccurate;
• ask me to delete your information;
• receive a copy of your information in a portable format;
• object to, or ask me to restrict, certain uses of your information;
• withdraw your consent at any time, or turn off analytics cookies.

To use any of these rights, email me at info@owaisnaseem.com. I may need to confirm your identity first. I will not treat you differently for using your rights, and I will reply within the time the law requires. If you live in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

The Website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so please do not send passwords or payment details through the contact form.

Children

The Website is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, email me and I will delete it.

International transfers

I am based in Pakistan, so when you contact me from another country your information is handled in Pakistan. The services listed above may process information in other countries under their own safeguards.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I will post the new version on this page and update the date above.
